Good morning. Now we have Mark’s version of the great commission: go into all the world and
preach the gospel to all creation. He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved;
but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned. There is a denomination that says that this
indicates that you if you have not been water baptized, you are condemned. That would of
course eliminate deathbed confessions. Then the part of Mark’s version of the great
commission that some denominations don’t accept for today’s believers. These signs will
accompany those who have believed: in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak
with new tongues; they will pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt
them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover. Even in our church you don’t hear
this version of the great commission preached. I’m not sure why not. There are those groups
who have misinterpreted it – that’s why you have snake handlers. So then, when the Lord
Jesus had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of
God. John says it was 40 days later that Jesus ascended. And they went out and preached
everywhere, while the Lord worked with them, and confirmed the word by the signs that
followed. Father thank You that we can lay hands on the sick and see them healed. Help this to
be the best weekend ever for the reader!
