  Good morning. Then a strong angel took up a stone like a great millstone (like the one that should be tied around the neck of someone who makes one of the little ones to stumble over Jesus) and threw it into the sea, saying, “so will Babylon, the great city, be thrown down with violence, and will not be found any longer. And the sound of joyful things will not be heard in you any longer because all the nations were deceived by your sorcery. And now why judgment was coming upon her – and in her was found the blood of prophets and of saints and all who have been slain on the earth. People/entities think that they are getting away with treating the people of God poorly; but in the end, they will receive unmerciful judgment upon them. Father continue to take care of Your people all over the world.

  Good morning. … For this reason in one day her plagues will come, pestilence and mourning and famine, and she will be burned up with fire; for the Lord God who judges her is strong. It was a quick judgment. Was it a nuclear blast? We don’t know; but some of the things that we will see appear to be the effects of one. In the books of Zechariah and Isaiah they talk about “their flesh rotting and their faces aflame”. And the kings of the earth, who committed acts of immorality and lived sensuously with her, will weep and lament over her when they see the smoke of her burning, standing at a distance because of the fear of her torment, saying, “woe the great city, Babylon, the strong city! For in one hour your judgment has come“. This was not something that started slowly and built up. John mentions merchants selling all kinds of things, including slaves and human lives, weeping because of the loss of the merchandise … “in one hour she has been laid waste!“ On the other hand: rejoice ...

  Good morning. After these things I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority, and the earth was illuminated with his glory. And he cried out with a mighty voice, “fallen, fallen is Babylon the great! She has become a dwelling place of demons and… For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the passion of her immorality …” I heard another voice from heaven, “come out of her, my people, so that you will not participate in her sins and receive of her plagues; for her sins have piled up as high as heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities. Pay her back even as she has paid, and give back to her double according to her deeds; in the cup which she has mixed, mix twice as much for her. To the degree that she has glorified herself and lived sensuously, to the same degree give her torment and mourning; for she says in her heart, “I sit as a queen and I am not a widow, and will never see mourning“.    Good morning. And he said to me, “the waters which you saw where the harlot sits, are peoples and multitudes and nations and tongues. And the 10 horns which you saw and the beast, these will hate the harlot and will make her desolate and naked, and will eat her flesh and will burn her up with fire. For God has put it in their hearts to execute His purpose by having a common purpose, and by giving their kingdom to the beast, until the words of God will be fulfilled. The woman whom you saw is the great city, which reigns over the kings of the earth“. These all thought that they were fulfilling some great scheme of their own; but in reality, it was God‘s plan all along. Father thank You that no matter what great scheme the enemy comes up with, in the end, it will work out as You have designed it.

   Good morning. The 10 horns which you saw are 10 kings who have not yet received a kingdom, but they receive authority as kings with the beast for one hour. So you have the seven heads which are seven kings (some say from the past), and now you have 10 horns which are 10 kings that have not received a kingdom yet. These have one purpose, and they give their power and authority to the beast. This is an unholy alliance. Of course the beast is just using them to achieve his goal. These will wage war against the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, because He is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those who are with Him are the called and chosen and faithful. Father thank You that we are called and chosen; help us to be faithful.

   Good morning. Speaking of the beast… here is the mind which has wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman sits (as we said before, Rome was built on seven hills, which leads some people to think that this is talking about Rome), and they are seven Kings (this seems to contradict that notion, unless it has double meaning); five have fallen, one is, the other has not yet come; and when he comes, he must remain a little while. [My Bible says that some think that this is seven actual Roman emperors, and others seven secular empires] The beast which was and is not, is himself also an eighth and is one of the seven, and he goes to destruction. (remember that he had the fatal wound that was healed). We will continue this tomorrow. Father extend Your healing touch to the reader and his/her family.

  Good morning. Why do you wonder? I will tell you the mystery of the woman and of the beast that carries her, which has the seven heads and 10 horns. The beast that you saw was, and is not, and is about to come up out of the abyss and go to destruction. [My Bible says that this seems to mean that the beast appeared once, is not presently evident, but will in the future again make his presence known] And those who dwell on the earth, whose name has not been written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, will wonder when they see the beast, that he was and is not and will come. In chapter 13 we had a question as to whether it was the peoples’ names that had not been written from the foundation of the world, or was it the Lamb that had been slain from the foundation of the world. Here there is no question – it is the names of the people that had not been written in the book of life from the foundation of the world. We will continue with the mystery of the beast tomorro...

   Good morning. And he carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness and I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast (The one that rose out of the sea), full of blasphemous names, having seven heads and 10 horns. The woman was clothed in purple and scarlet, and adored with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a gold cup full of abominations and of the unclean things of her immoralities, and on her forehead a name was written, a mystery, Babylon the great, the mother of harlots and of the abominations of the earth. And I saw the woman drunk with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the witnesses of Jesus. When I saw her I wondered greatly. In other words, when she was bad, she was horrid. Tomorrow, the mystery about the woman will be solved. Father thank You that everything is under Your control.

   Good morning. The great city (Babylon) was split into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. Babylon the great was remembered before God to give her the cup of the wine of His fierce wrath. And every island fled away and the mountains were not found. And huge hailstones, about 100 pounds each, came down from heaven upon men; and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail, because it’s plague was extremely severe. Again, no repentance. One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and spoke with me, saying, “come here, I will show you the judgment of the great harlot who sits on many waters, with whom the kings of the earth committed acts of immorality, and those who dwell on the earth were made drunk with the wine of her immorality“. We will see this judgment tomorrow. Father help us to realize we cannot participate with the immoralities of the world and at the same time with the spirituality of You.

   Good morning. We just had the sixth bowl: Behold, I am coming like a thief. Blessed is the one who stays awake and keeps his clothes, so that he will not walk about naked and men will not see his shame“. This is of course Jesus speaking. And they gathered them together to the place which in Hebrew is called Har-Magedon (Armageddon). In Judges 5:19, it talks about the kings came and fought near the waters of Megiddo, and the stars fought from heaven. That sounds like what Revelation is talking about, not only here, but also six chapters earlier. Drumroll… Then the seventh angel poured out his bowl upon the air, and a loud voice came out of the temple from the throne saying, “it is done“. And there were flashes of lightning and sounds and peals of thunder; and there was a great earthquake, such as there had not been since man came to be upon the earth, so great an earthquake was it, and so mighty.    Good morning. And men repented, right? And they blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pain and their sores; and they did not repent of their deeds. The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river, the Euphrates; and the water was dried up, so that the way would be prepared for the kings from the east. Previously, the 6th angel blew his trumpet and told them to release the four angels at the river Euphrates so that the army of 200 million could cross over. Back to the bowl: and I saw coming out of the mouth of the dragon and out of the mouth of the false prophet, three unclean spirits like frogs; for they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the whole world, to gather them together for the war of the great Day of God, the Almighty. Father continue to bring blessings upon the reader and his/her family every day of their lives.

   Good morning. We are now to the fourth angel pouring out his bowl – upon the sun, and it was given to it to scorch men with fire. Men were scorched with fierce heat (sounds like Central Florida); and they blasphemed the name of God who has the power over these plagues, and they did not repent so as to give Him glory. So many times mankind had an opportunity to repent, but did not. Then the fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and his kingdom became darkened; and they gnawed their tongues because of pain. This is reminiscent of Egypt when the land was dark except where the Israelites lived. Also back in chapter 8 the angel sounded the trumpet, and a third of the sun, the moon, and the stars were struck and darkened and they did not shine for a third of the day. A rehash, or a second occurrence? Father no matter what kind of tragedies may happen in the earth, we can be confident that You will protect us under Your mighty wings.

   Good morning. The second angel poured out his bowl into the sea, and it became blood like that of a dead man; and every living thing in the sea died. Eight chapters earlier when the angels were sounding trumpets, when the second one sounded, something like a great mountain was thrown into the sea and a third of the sea became blood. Again, is this a repeat, or a different occurrence? Then the third angel poured out his bowl into the rivers and the springs of water; and they became blood. “ Righteous are You, who are and who were (notice that it does not have “and are to come“ like before), O Holy One, because You judged these things; for they poured out the blood of saints and prophets, and You have given them blood to drink. They deserve it”. The altar – “yes, O Lord God, the Almighty, true and righteous are Your judgments“. In other words, the punishment fits the crime. Father thank You that You take care of us every day.

   Good morning. Then one of the four living creatures (they were also involved with the seven seals) gave to the seven angels seven golden bowls full of the wrath of God, who lives forever and ever. And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God and from His power; and no one was able to enter the temple until the seven plagues of the seven angels were finished. Six chapters earlier we had the temple of God opened and lightning and sound and so on right after it said the time came for the dead to be judged. Is all of this new or a repeat of what has been said before?“ Go and pour out on the earth the seven bowls of the wrath of God“. So the first angel went and poured out his bowl on the earth; and it became a loathsome and malignant sore on the people who had the mark of the beast and who worshiped his image. That in itself would be reason enough to not take the mark of the beast; even though you could not buy or sell without it. These are people who were alive d...

   Good morning. Then I saw another sign in heaven (Does this occur after the reaping from the previous chapter, or is it a repeating of events that have happened previously?), seven angels who had seven plagues, which are the last, because in them the wrath of God is finished. I thought the good and the bad had already been reaped; but perhaps not all had been, just those in Israel. And I saw something like a sea of glass mixed with fire, and those who had been victorious over the beast and his image and the number of his name (so it is during or after the tribulation), standing on the sea of glass, holding harps of God. And they sang the song of Moses, and the song of the Lamb. After these things I looked, and the Temple of the tabernacle of testimony in heaven was opened, and the seven angels who had the seven plagues came out of the temple clothed in linen, clean and bright, and girded around their chests with golden sashes.   Good morning. Another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven, and he also had a sharp sickle [My Bible says that the context suggests in contrast to the previous sickle that this is the smaller grape knife with which the farmer cut the clusters of grapes from the vine]. Then another angel, the one who has power over fire, came out from the altar; and he called with a loud voice to him who had the sharp sickle, saying, “Put in your sharp sickle and gather the clusters from the vine of the earth, because her grapes are ripe“. So the angel swung his sickle to the earth and gathered the clusters from the vine of the earth, and threw them into the great winepress of the wrath of God. And the wine press was trodden outside the city, and blood came out from the wine press, up to the horses’ bridles, for a distance of 200 miles (The approximate length of the Holy Land). This was obviously of unbelievers, which suggests that the Son of Man reaped believers with His sickle. Father...

  Good morning. Then I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and sitting on the cloud was one like a (the) Son of Man (from Daniel, denoting the Messiah), having a golden crown on His head and a sharp sickle in His hand. [My Bible says that the Israelite sickle used for cutting grain was normally a flint or iron blade attached to a curved shaft of wood or bone.] And another angel came out of the temple, crying out with a loud voice to Him who sat on the cloud, “put in Your sickle and reap, for the hour to reap has come, because the harvest of the earth is ripe“. The general idea is that the One sitting on the cloud does not know that it is time to put in His sickle and reap. He knows that it is close to time because He is sitting on the cloud with His sickle. Jesus said that not even the Son knows the time, but only the Father knows. Then He who sat on the cloud swung His sickle over the earth, and the earth was reaped. Because of the verses that follow, it is probable that these...

   Good morning. OK so the ones that took the mark of the beast are being tormented with fire and brimstone. And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever; they have no rest day and night, those who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name. So it is not just a one time spanking. Here is the perseverance of the saints who keep the Commandments of God and their faith in Jesus. And I heard a voice from heaven, saying, “write, blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on! Yes, says the Spirit, so that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow with them”. [My Bible says that there are seven blessed’s in the book of Revelation, and this is the second one. The first one was in chapter 1.] So we have the people with the mark of the beast being tormented forever, and THEN it says blessed are those who die in the Lord from now on. There are still believers on earth at this time? Father thank You that those who die in You ...

   Good morning. Another angel, a second one, followed, saying, “fallen, fallen is Babylon the great (called that in Daniel), she who has made all the nations drink of the wine of the passion of her immorality“. There is debate as to whether Babylon is the literal place or represents another place like Rome, or perhaps the world system. A third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, “if anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives a mark on his forehead or on his hand, he also will drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is mixed in full strength in the cup of His anger; and he will be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb”. That is a very serious penalty for taking the name/number of the beast. However, it would be very hard to refuse to receive it if your children were sick or hungry, and that was the only way to get food or medicine for them.   Good morning. Continuing with the 144,000… and no lie was found in their mouth; they are blameless. And I saw another angel flying in midheaven, having an eternal gospel to preach to those who live on the earth (it wasn’t a temporary “good news“ proclamation; but rather one of eternal destination. As a note: angels do not preach the gospel; people do.), and to every nation and tribe and tongue and people; and he said with a loud voice, “Fear God, and give Him glory, because the hour of His judgment has come; worship Him who made the heavens and the earth and sea and springs of waters“. Instead of fearing God, the unbelievers were extremely angry at Him. No matter what happens around us, Father help us to always look to You for our salvation.

   Good morning. Then I looked… Does this follow immediately after the name of the beast we just read about, or was all of that about the beast a digression and this follows the dragon being enraged with the woman and making war with her children? Behold the Lamb was standing on Mount Zion and with Him 144,000, having His name and the name of His Father written on their foreheads. I heard a voice from heaven like the sound of many waters; loud thunder; like the sound of harpists playing on their harps. And they sang a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders; and no one could learn the song except the 144,000 who had been purchased from the earth. These are the ones who have not been defiled with women, for they have kept themselves chaste. These are the ones who follow the Lamb wherever He goes. These have been purchased from among men as first fruits to God and to the Lamb. The first fruits of the harvest were given to God as a sacrifice...

   Good morning. Finishing with the mark of the beast: here is wisdom let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for the number is that of a man; and his number is 666. There have been many different schemes to try to figure out what name 666 represents. There are other things that have been considered. The number six represents man. They say the three sixes represent the unholy trinity. In Greek there is only a definite article “the“. There is no indefinite article “a or an“. Normally, but not always, if there is no article, then it is translated as “a or an“. Here the word translated man has no article. What does it mean - the name of “an” individual or does it mean mankind in general? The NIV translates it as man’s number. If the church has been raptured, it won’t matter to us. Father help us to not be worried about things like this, but to be concerned about following Your Word.

   Good morning. As if fire coming down from heaven were not enough: it was given to him to give breath to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast would even speak and cause as many as do not worship the image of the beast to be killed. Now that would definitely get people’s attention! Of course people believe that, but won’t believe “simple“ miracles that God does. Now here’s the part that you hear about from “conspiracy theorists“ a lot nowadays: and he causes all, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free men and the slaves, to be given a mark on their right hand or on their forehead, and he provides that no one will be able to buy or to sell, except the one who has the mark, either the name of the beast or the number of his name. Because of these verses, some people refuse to have implants or identification marks of any kind (today it is common to talk about implants for identification or possibly medical information) saying that that ...

   Good morning. (The false prophet) performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down out of heaven to the earth in the presence of men (reminiscent of Elijah). This is why, in reference to Mark chapter 16, that signs should follow believers, not believers follow signs. The people of the world won’t believe signs that happen when believers pray for miracles; but they will believe a “false” one coming from the enemy. And he deceives those who dwell on the earth because of the signs which it was given him to perform in the presence of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who had the wound of the sword and has come to life. This reminds us of the book of Daniel where Nebuchadnezzar had an image built to himself and made everyone bow down to it. We will see more about this image tomorrow. Father help us to follow You and not signs.

   Good morning. If anyone is destined (it is in italics, meaning that it is not literally in the Greek) for captivity, to captivity he goes; if anyone kills with the sword, with the sword he must be killed. Here is the perseverance and the faith of the saints. This is a quote from Jeremiah, which does not have the italics. Then I saw another beast (later called the false prophet) coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb and he spoke as a dragon. He tries to appear harmless, but instead is extremely wicked. Remember Jesus warned of those in sheep’s clothing that inside were ravenous wolves. He exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence. And he makes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose fatal wound was healed. Father help us to continue to look to You for guidance and our salvation.

   Good morning. There was given to him (the beast) a mouth speaking arrogant words and blasphemies, and authority to act for 42 months (there’s that 3 1/2 years again) was given to him. He had no power or authority on his own. It was also given to him to make war with the saints (there are believers on earth at this point in the tribulation)  and to overcome them, and authority over every tribe and people and tongue and nation was given to him. There are two ways to translate the following verse. All who dwell on earth will worship him, everyone whose name has not been written from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who has been slain. This way of translating it says that their name was never written in the book. The other way says that it was the Lamb who was slain from the foundation of the world. In chapter 17, only the first circumstance is mentioned. Father thank You that our names have been written from the foundation of the world in the bo...

   Good morning. I saw one of his (the beast’s) heads as if it had been slain, and his fatal wound was healed. And the whole earth was amazed and followed after the beast. Of course a person doesn’t have seven heads; so is the beast not a person, but an entity having seven individuals, or perhaps countries? Whether it was an individual or even a country that had a “fatal wound“, and then came back, it would garner great attention from the world. They worshipped the dragon because he gave his authority to the beast; and they worshipped the beast saying, “who is like the beast, and who is able to wage war with him”? The beast takes away the attention of the world from the dragon so that he can create havoc without being villainized. Father help us to follow You and Your Word so that we will not be deceived by the world or the enemy.

  Good morning. And the dragon stood on the sand of the sea shore (remember he was cast out of heaven). I saw a beast (he is going to kill the two witnesses we read about earlier; so in that sense it is going back over some of the same timeframe.) coming up out of the sea, having 10 horns and seven heads, and on his horns were 10 diadems, and on his heads were blasphemous names. [My Bible says that some speculated that the beast represents the Roman empire.] And the beast which I saw was like a leopard, and his feet were like those of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion (these animal characteristics are reminiscent of Daniel’s four beasts). And the dragon gave him his power and his throne and great authority. Father help Your people to stay united no matter what may come against Your kingdom.

   Good morning. And the serpent poured water like a river out of his mouth after the woman, so that he might cause her to be swept away with the flood. (Is this literal?) But the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth (like in the days of Moses) and drank up the river which the dragon poured out of his mouth. And just like we would be if someone thwarted our revenge: so the dragon was enraged with the woman, and went off to make war with the rest of her children (since he is no longer in heaven), who keep the Commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus (so they are believers on earth at or near the end of the tribulation). Perhaps these are the 144,000 we read about earlier. Next time we will meet the beast mentioned in chapter 11. Father direct our paths to follow after You and Your word.

   Good morning. For this reason, rejoice, O heavens and you who dwell in them. Woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, knowing that he has only a short time. Taking this strictly at face value: The devil is no longer in heaven, so those that are there are no longer harassed by him. Those on earth, however, are in for big trouble. It has to be right at the end because he only has a short time. And when the dragon saw that he was thrown down to the earth, he persecuted the woman (Israel) who gave birth to the male child. But the two wings of the great eagle were given to the woman, so that she could fly into the wilderness to her place, where she was nourished for a time and times and half a time (symbolizing 3 1/2 years), from the presence of the serpent. Speculation has arisen about the two wings of the great eagle. Since the bald eagle is one of the symbols of the United States, it has been speculated that this represents the...

   Good morning. Happy New Year's. A loud voice in heaven: now the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren has been thrown down, he who accuses [My Bible says that Satan in Hebrew means accuser] them before our God day and night. This would seem to confirm that it is at or near the end of the tribulation; since today we are constantly being accused by him. He has been doing something like this since at least the time of Job. And they (who are “they“? Apparently it is the brethren who are being accused by the devil) overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life even when faced with death. It is a lot easier to stay faithful when there is no penalty for doing it. It is a lot harder when death is your “reward“. Father help us to remain faithful to You even if it means our death.
