The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God.

Good morning. OK, so we have all these wonderful words that say that we are children of God. Is there any way other than just words that we can know that we are children of God? The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God. Of course we dont go by feelings; but there are definitely times when we feel something“ deep down inside of us. And if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him. The way that sounds in English, it seems like we dont get the inheritance unless we do the suffering. My Bible says that the Greek construction used here does not set forth a condition but states a fact. In other words the inheritance is not predicated on the suffering, but the suffering is a natural result of being Christians. Its part of the “job description“. Now most Christians (at least in America) do not suffer any where near the way Jesus did. For some Christians, its merely the fact that you cannot act or talk in the world the same way that you act and talk in church. You will get criticized if you express your true feelings about situations in the world. All of that is nothing like Christians in other countries suffer. They suffer physical abuse and even death. Father thank You when we are considered worthy of truly suffering for Jesus. Help us to remember that nothing we go through in this life compares to what Jesus went through.
