For with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation
Good morning. For with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. Remember in John that there were certain religious leaders who were believing in Jesus, but were not confessing Him because of fear of the Pharisees. This begs the question, can you be saved if you don’t confess? Of course salvation here probably means more than just getting your fire insurance. Paul then quotes a scripture that makes the statement that salvation is for everyone, not just the Jews - whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved. How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher? How will they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written, “how beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news of good things!“ sometimes this passage is used to either obtain support for missionaries, or to even encourage people to become missionaries. It is absolutely true because the salvation message is not just going to come from the air; someone needs to bring the message to the people. While someone might bring the message to those that live around them, it is unlikely that they will go to other countries to carry the message. This is the reason that our church is so big on supporting missionaries. Father thank You that You sent someone to bring us the message. Send forth many laborers into Your fields to harvest!
