Pput on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience
Good morning. So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved - can you even wrap your head around that thought? God chose US! And He didn’t choose us because we did something to deserve it. Our righteousness was as filthy rags, but here it says He chose us holy and beloved. And since we were chosen thus: put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. That’s an awful lot to expect of us, knowing how we normally act. In fact, it sounds like the fruit of the Spirit. Once we do this, then what? Bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you. Seriously? You don’t know what… has said or done to me! It doesn’t matter. Up to seven times? No, Peter – up to 70×7. I know what some of you are saying – after 490 times I won’t have to forgive. If you know when it reaches 490 times, then you really were not forgiving that person each time. Father help us to treat others just like You treat us, forgiving all the bad things said or done.
