There was given to him a mouth speaking arrogant words and blasphemies, and authority to act for 42 months

 Good morning. There was given to him (the beast) a mouth speaking arrogant words and blasphemies, and authority to act for 42 months (there’s that 3 1/2 years again) was given to him. He had no power or authority on his own. It was also given to him to make war with the saints (there are believers on earth at this point in the tribulation)  and to overcome them, and authority over every tribe and people and tongue and nation was given to him. There are two ways to translate the following verse. All who dwell on earth will worship him, everyone whose name has not been written from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who has been slain. This way of translating it says that their name was never written in the book. The other way says that it was the Lamb who was slain from the foundation of the world. In chapter 17, only the first circumstance is mentioned. Father thank You that our names have been written from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb.

Then the angel took the censer (The one that had the incense which was mixed with the prayers of the saints) and filled it with the fire of the altar, and threw it to the earth; and there followed peals of thunder and sounds and flashes of lightning and an earthquake. There’s a lot of this going on in revelation. And the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound them. The first sounded, and there came hail and fire, mixed with blood, and they were thrown to the earth; and a third of the earth was burned up, and a third of the trees were burned up, and all the green grass was burned up. The fraction 1/3 shows that it was significant, but not over the entire earth. The second angel sounded, and something like a great mountain burning with fire was thrown into the sea; and a third of the sea became blood, and a third of the creatures which were in the sea and had life, died; and a third of the ships were destroyed. Why are you timid, you men of little faith?

  Good morning. Remember that Jesus had given orders that they should depart to the other side (of the lake). While Jesus was asleep in the boat, there arose a great storm, so that the boat was covered with the waves. This was no afternoon shower; it was one of those “make the palm trees bend over and touch the ground" kind of storms. And Jesus just slept through it! He had confidence in His Father to protect Him. The disciples, however, were not confident. They were focusing on the circumstances and not on the word Jesus had given them. They awoke Jesus saying, “save us, Lord; we are perishing!” Jesus had told them to go to the other side; so they should've been confident that they would make it. They did not even think about all of the miracles that Jesus had just finished doing. But even if they had, they probably would've said “well that was one thing, this is something entirely different”. The same thing happens to us. God tells us to do something, and a storm arises....
