Concerning His Son who was born of a descendant of David according to the flesh

 Good morning. Today we begin the book of Romans. He has not been to Rome yet. My Bible says that there is a verse near the end which talks about the collections that he was going to take to Jerusalem, which is the occasion near the end of Acts which got him into trouble. Paul basically introduces himself at the beginning and gives his qualifications for writing. He says that he was a bond servant of Christ Jesus. My Bible says that this is different from being a hired hand. He completely belonged to his owner, Jesus. Called as an apostle. There are too many people who are designated by others or even by themselves as apostles. The true ones, like Paul, are designated by God as apostles. Set apart for the gospel of God, which He promised beforehand through His prophets in the holy Scriptures. God did not make up everything as He went along. He had everything completely planned out and revealed it through hints to His prophets in the Old Testament. Concerning His Son who was born of a descendant of David according to the flesh. David had to be an ancestor of the Messiah. Of course Jesus was not actually the son of Joseph, who was a descendent of David, though legally He was. The Gospel has always been about Jesus. Father thank You that You planned Your work, and worked Your plan. (sounds like an Amway commercial). Help us to determine Your plan for our lives and to follow that plan without fail.

  Good morning. I pray that everything is all right with your family. And as he heard these words,  Ananias fell down and breathed his last; and great fear came over all who heard of it – ya think? Based on Peter’s words to the wife later, I don’t think Peter was expecting this to happen. If that happened today, a lot of congregations would be shrinking 😳 . The young men got up and covered him up, and after carrying him out, they buried him. Notice that there was no ceremony, and no one gave a eulogy. I don’t know if that was the custom or if it was because of the way he died – probably the custom. They needed to bury people right away because there was no embalming. Now there elapsed an interval of about three hours, and his wife came in, not knowing what had happened. What, no one cellphoned her 🙃 ? Notice that it took three hours.   Good morning. Back to Abraham: without becoming week in faith he contemplated his own body, now as good as dead since he was about 100 years old, and the deadness of Sarah‘s womb, yet, with respect to the promise of God, he did not waver in unbelief but grew strong in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully assured that what God had promised, He was able also to perform. That is extremely hard to do. Even with some minor affliction, such as a little hoarseness, it’s hard to imagine yourself speaking clearly. In your mind, you hear yourself talking with that same hoarseness. And yet Abraham was able to look at the problem and believe that God was going to do what He said He would do, in spite of the problem. Some “faith” people say that they don’t have a problem, when obviously they do. That’s not what Abraham did. He said, I’ve got a problem, but my God is greater than the problem.
