Good morning. More
parables about the kingdom of heaven. The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard
seed, which a man took and sowed in his field; and this is smaller than all the
other seeds; but when it is full-grown, it is larger than the garden plants, and
becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and nest in its branches. The
kingdom of heaven is also like leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three
pecks of meal, until it was all leavened. In both cases it only took a little
to greatly affect something much greater. The kingdom of heaven is like a
treasure hidden in the field, which a man found and hid; and from joy over it
he goes and sells all that he has, and buys that field. The kingdom of heaven
is like a merchant seeking fine pearls, and upon finding one pearl of great
value, he went and sold all that he had, and bought it. In both cases the
person gave up everything that he had to obtain something of much greater
value. What he had was valuable, but could not match what he had found. Should
we not be willing to give up everything for the kingdom of heaven? True, Jesus
gave up everything He had so that we might obtain it; but we too should give up
everything we have so that the kingdom might achieve its full potential in us.
Father thank You that the reader is willing to give up everything that he/she
has for the sake of Your kingdom. As a result, he/she obtains something of much
greater value!
Unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God
Good morning. While Jesus was in Jerusalem at the Passover, during the feast, many believed in His name, observing His signs which He was doing. Jesus was not entrusting Himself to them, for He knew all men. Now there was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. It doesn’t say, but I assume it is still during this time of the Passover. This man came to Jesus by night. Rabbi, we know that You have come from God as a teacher; for no one can do the signs that You do unless God is with him. It just said that the people believed in His name because of the signs He was doing; yet it does not say what those signs were. Unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God. That is why unbelievers cannot tell what is of the kingdom of God and what is not – they’re not born again. Nicodemus doesn’t have a clue. How can a man be born when he is old? He cannot enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born, can he? Unless one is born of water and the Spirit ...
