So that through me the proclamation might be fully accomplished, and that all might hear
Good morning. At my first defense no one supported me, but all deserted me; may it not be counted against them. If that happened to us, we would be taking Xanax, and asking God to bring down fire upon all of those people who deserted us. But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me. If we said that, it would be strictly figuratively; but when Paul said it, it could be literally true, since Jesus had appeared to him at other times. So that through me the proclamation might be fully accomplished, and that all the Gentiles might hear; and I was rescued out of the lion’s mouth. Even in the midst of what was one of his gloomiest times, Paul was still concerned about spreading the gospel. One of the times when Jesus did appear to Paul in a prison cell, He told him that he must go to Rome to witness also. It was probably the only way that the leaders of Rome would ever be able to hear the gospel. The Lord will rescue me from every evil deed, and will bring me safely to His heavenly kingdom; to Him be the glory forever and ever. Amen. That is the end of second Timothy. Father help us to stand firm in our confession of You, and to not yield to any threats against us.
