Was is it not necessary for the Christ to suffer these things and to enter into His glory?

 Good morning. Now we have two men on the road to Emmaus. They were talking about all that just happened – the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus. Jesus approached and began traveling with them. But their eyes were prevented from recognizing Him. He wanted to know what they were talking about. Are You the only one visiting Jerusalem and unaware of the things which have happened in these days? Jesus innocently – what things? “Jesus from Nazareth, who was a prophet mighty in deed and word in the sight of God and all the people. They had not come to recognize Him as the Christ”. They were still thinking of Him as just a great man of God. “But we were hoping that it was He who was going to redeem Israel”. They were still thinking of Him as a conquering hero, not the one who was going to die for their sins. They then tell about the women who went to the tomb and did not find the body of Jesus. They said they had seen a vision of angels who said that He was alive. Was is it not necessary for the Christ to suffer these things and to enter into His glory? Beginning with Moses He explained to them the things concerning Himself in all the Scriptures. They get Him to stay for dinner. He takes bread, blesses it, breaks it, and gives it to them. Their eyes are opened and they recognize Him – and He vanished from their sight. Were not our hearts burning within us while He was speaking to us on the road and explaining the Scriptures to us? What did they do next? You will have to wait till next time ha ha. Father thank You for taking care of us and our families. Help us today and every day at work or at home.

  Good morning. But even if you should suffer for the sake of righteousness, you are blessed. “And do not fear their intimidation and do not be troubled”. In Greek, the word “if“ has different degrees of significance unlike in English. My Bible says that in the Greek, this conditional clause (if you should suffer…) is the furthest removed from stating a reality. Suffering for righteousness is a remote possibility, but even if it does occur, it brings special blessing to the sufferer. All Christians wrestle with the question, “should I share the gospel with this person or not?“ The following verse tells us how we should do it: sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence. To those, who are chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, and by the sanctifying work of the Spirit, to obey Jesus Christ and be sprinkled with His blood

  Good morning. Today we begin with I Peter. Peter identifies himself as an apostle of Jesus. There was only one, so we know who is writing. To those who reside as aliens (believers are aliens to this world), scattered throughout (different places), who are chosen (we didn’t earn it) according to the foreknowledge (this comes from the same Greek word from which we get the medical term prognosis) of God the Father, and by the sanctifying work of the Spirit (this shows that the third Person of the Trinity is also involved), to obey Jesus Christ (which we are incapable of doing without being sanctified) and be sprinkled with His blood (all articles of worship in the tabernacle and then in the temple were sprinkled with the blood of animals – we are sprinkled with the blood of Jesus): may grace and peace be yours in the fullest measure.
