If anyone serves Me, he must follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also; if anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him.
Good morning. Philip and Andrew came and told Jesus that the Greeks were seeking Him. The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. Unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit. If Jesus had not died and risen again, He could have only been in one place at a time, and He would have been the only child of God. Because He “fell into the earth and died“, He was multiplied many times over. That’s like a single grain of wheat or corn growing into a plant that bears many grains just like itself. He who loves his life loses it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it to life eternal. Too many Christians love their blessings and prosperity in this life so much so that they are in danger of losing their soul over it. That does not necessarily mean they won’t go to heaven, but they will be tormented inside while they are alive because they can never be satisfied with the things of this life. If anyone serves Me, he must follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also; if anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him. Then it seems like all of a sudden He realized that: now My soul has become troubled; and what shall I say, Father save Me from this hour? But for this purpose I came to this hour. For years Jesus had known that He was going to go to the cross and die, but now the time was at hand. You know how that is in your own life. There is some big event (it could be good or bad) that is months away; then weeks; then days. In the beginning it doesn’t even seem real; but as it gets closer and closer reality sinks in. What you had been hoping for/dreading is now at hand. Father thank You that Jesus “fell into the earth and died“ and we “grew” from that death and resurrection. Help this to be a beautiful day for us.
