But according to His promise we are looking for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells
Good morning. Now the verse that seems to substantiate the idea that Peter was talking about the day of the Lord/God being after the millennium: but according to His promise we are looking for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells. Therefore, since you look for these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, spotless and blameless, and regard the patience of our Lord as salvation (if He had come already, there would be those who would not be saved today); just as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given him, wrote to you, speaking in his letters some things hard to understand, which the untaught and unstable distort, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures (some say that this means that Peter put Paul’s writings on the same level with the rest of the Scriptures - Old Testament), to their own destruction. This is the end of second Peter. Father help us to follow Your Word and not the words of unprincipled people who speak things contrary to it.
