For you were continually straying like sheep, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Guardian of your souls.

Good morning. Why did we need for Jesus to bear our sins on the cross? For you were continually straying like sheep, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Guardian of your souls. This verse reminds us of what Jesus said about Him being the good shepherd and not a hireling.  Without Jesus we were continually straying like sheep. Cover your eyes and ears: in the same way, you wives, be submissive to your own husbands so that even if any of them are disobedient to the word, they may be won without a word by the behavior of their wives, as they observe your chaste and respectful behavior. My Bible says that the word translated submissive is the same word as being submissive to authorities and slaves submissive to their masters. My Bible continues with “inferiority is not implied by this passage; the submission is one of role or function necessary for the orderly operation of the home”; like it also was for all to authority and slaves to masters. Father help us to quit straying from Jesus, our Shepherd
