If you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law

 Good morning. If you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. The Spirit won’t lead us to do anything that we should not, but will lead us to do the things that we should - we don’t need the Law to guide us. Now the deeds (plural) of the flesh are evident, which are… and things like these. Those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. People that do the things that he listed generally really don’t care about inheriting the kingdom of God – they only care about pleasing their flesh. But the fruit (singular) of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law (if you are operating in the fruit of the Spirit, you won’t be breaking the Law). Those people who do the deeds of the flesh might only do one or two but not all of them. Those who exhibit the fruit of the Spirit will exhibit all that Paul listed, not just one or two. If you feel like one of those listed in the fruit of the Spirit is not operating properly in your life, check to see if the others are operating properly in your life. In other words, if you don’t have any joy, check to see if there is the love of the Spirit operating in your life. If you don’t have patience, check to see if you have the peace of the Lord operating in your life, etc. Father help us to continuously grow and exhibit the fruit of the Spirit in our lives every day.

  Good morning. But even if you should suffer for the sake of righteousness, you are blessed. “And do not fear their intimidation and do not be troubled”. In Greek, the word “if“ has different degrees of significance unlike in English. My Bible says that in the Greek, this conditional clause (if you should suffer…) is the furthest removed from stating a reality. Suffering for righteousness is a remote possibility, but even if it does occur, it brings special blessing to the sufferer. To those, who are chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, and by the sanctifying work of the Spirit, to obey Jesus Christ and be sprinkled with His blood

  Good morning. Today we begin with I Peter. Peter identifies himself as an apostle of Jesus. There was only one, so we know who is writing. To those who reside as aliens (believers are aliens to this world), scattered throughout (different places), who are chosen (we didn’t earn it) according to the foreknowledge (this comes from the same Greek word from which we get the medical term prognosis) of God the Father, and by the sanctifying work of the Spirit (this shows that the third Person of the Trinity is also involved), to obey Jesus Christ (which we are incapable of doing without being sanctified) and be sprinkled with His blood (all articles of worship in the tabernacle and then in the temple were sprinkled with the blood of animals – we are sprinkled with the blood of Jesus): may grace and peace be yours in the fullest measure.
