For since He Himself was tempted in that which He has suffered, He is able to come to the aid of those who are tempted.

Good morning. For since He Himself was tempted in that which He has suffered, He is able to come to the aid of those who are tempted. As the song says about Jesus being tempted in the garden of Gethsemane: “He could have called 10,000 angels.“ He even asked the Father that if possible, the cup would be taken away from Him. When something ominous is years, months, weeks, maybe even days away from us, it’s easy to put it in the back of our mind, and to pretend it’s not going to happen. When it is in just a few hours, it’s impossible to think of anything but that. We think we have it bad; but nothing compares to what Jesus was going to go through shortly. As He trusted the Father, so should we. Therefore (because of Jesus’ resistance to temptation), holy brethren, partakers of a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the Apostle and High Priest of our confession. And we will consider Him next time. Father thank You that Jesus did not yield to temptation; but trusted completely in You that everything would work out for the best.
