He offered up both prayers and supplications with loud crying in tears to the One able to save Him from death, and He was heard because of His piety.

Good morning. Speaking of Jesus our high priest: In the days of His flesh, He offered up both prayers and supplications with loud crying in tears to the One able to save Him from death, and He was heard because of His piety. Obviously he was talking about Jesus in the garden of Gethsemane. While the gospels mention Jesus crying out to the Father to remove the cup, they do not mention tears. Although He was a Son, He learned obedience from the things which He suffered. I am sure that Abraham agonized when God asked him to sacrifice Isaac; still he obeyed. In the garden, Jesus agonized over the fact that the Father asked Him to sacrifice Himself. When Abraham obeyed, he became the father of a multitude. When Jesus obeyed, He became the brother of a multitude. We would never want our children to suffer like Jesus did, even if they had done something wrong. But Jesus and the Father knew that it was necessary for our sakes. Father continue to go with the reader during this week and every week giving him/her the strength and courage to continue.
