Melchizedek, first of all, by the translation of his name, king of righteousness, and then also king of Salem, which is king of peace
Good morning. For this Melchizedek, King of Salem, priest of the Most High God, who met Abraham as he was returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him, to whom also Abraham apportioned a 10th part of all the spoils, was first of all, by the translation of his name, king of righteousness, and then also king of Salem, which is king of peace. My Bible points out that he was both a king and a priest. That did not happen under the old covenant. You could be one, but not the other. He was king of righteousness, and king of peace. That seems to prefigure Jesus. Without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but made like the Son of God, he remains a priest perpetually. My Bible reminds us: in Genesis the norm was to give the father and or mother of an important person and how long this person lived. Neither of these is mentioned. It doesn’t mention someone being priest before him or after him. The author of Hebrews just said that he was a high priest forever. Together these can be interpreted that Melchizedek was a manifestation of Christ before His incarnation. There are other places in the Old Testament where this seems to be true also. Father continue ministering healing to the reader and bringing blessings upon him/her and his/her family.
