For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh
Good morning. And now a verse quoted several times in the New Testament: for this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh. And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed. And so that was the up close and personal description of the creation of man. We don’t know how long Adam was alive before Eve (Greek - zoe - life) was created. We also don’t know how long it was after that before the serpent entered the picture. Now the serpent was more crafty than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. Crafty is not how we would describe a snake. And he said to the woman (the moral of the story to come: don’t listen to talking snakes) “Indeed, has God said, you shall not eat from any (literally – every) tree of the garden”? Interesting – Eve was not surprised nor alarmed at a snake talking to her. Notice that the serpent did not change even one word of what God actually said. Father thank You that You give us clear and perfect instructions of what to do and to say.
