For indeed He was crucified because of weakness, yet He lives because of the power of God
Good morning. For I am afraid that perhaps when I come I may find you to be not what I wish and may be found by you to be not what you wish (in light of what the “eminent” apostles were saying about him); that perhaps there will be strife, jealousy, etc. In his first letter, he had already talked about the disagreement there with some saying, “I am of Paul“, etc. He then says that when he comes, he is not going to spare anyone who has sinned. Since you are seeking for proof of the Christ who speaks in me, and who is not weak toward you, but mighty in you. Remember that previously Paul had written that the Corinthians were saying that he was impressive in his writing but unimpressive when present. For indeed He was crucified because of weakness, yet He lives because of the power of God. But we also are weak in Him, yet we will live with Him because of the power of God directed toward you. Father help us to keep our eyes on what is most important. It is all too easy to keep our eyes focused on what is affecting us, and not on what is affecting those around us.
