A woman came to Him with an alabaster vial of very costly perfume, and she poured it upon His head as He reclined at the table.

Good morning. Now when Jesus was in Bethany, at the home of Simon the leper (in John it says that Jesus was in Bethany at the home of Mary, Martha, and Lazarus), a woman came to Him with an alabaster vial of very costly perfume, and she poured it upon His head as He reclined at the table. The disciples were upset and said that it was a waste. It could've been sold for a high price, and the money given to the poor. In another place it says that Judas was upset because he had the money box and used to steal from it. Why are you upset? She did a good deed for Me. You have the poor with you always, but you don't always have Me. When she poured this perfume upon My body, she did it to prepare Me for burial. Wherever this gospel is preached in the whole world, what she did shall be spoken of in memory of her. I may have mentioned this before. Think about it – she just poured very expensive perfume all over His head. They did not have showers, and probably did not take a full bath with soap like we do. Jesus just said it was two days before the Passover. It is very likely that some of the fragrance remained on Jesus during His trial. Judas went to the chief priests and wanted to know how much they would give him to betray Jesus. They agreed on 30 pieces of silver, and Judas began to look for a good opportunity to betray Jesus. Father thank You that You guide us every moment of the day. Put a hedge of protection around us and our family. Keep us safe from the storm.

Out of the smoke came locusts upon the earth, and power was given to them, as the scorpions of the earth have power.

But even if you should suffer for the sake of righteousness, you are blessed.

To those, who are chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, and by the sanctifying work of the Spirit, to obey Jesus Christ and be sprinkled with His blood
