Good morning. Let the love
of the brethren continue. Love is a natural thing from Christians; so it seems
strange that he would say to let it continue. Sadly many Christians do not.
Sometimes it's different beliefs about doctrines, but other times it's disagreements
about natural things that causes love to discontinue. It reminds me of the song
that goes "I believe in this, you believe in that; this and that are
keeping us from loving one another". Do not neglect to show hospitality to
strangers, for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it.
Yesterday the pastor went even further. He admonished us to entertain fellow
believers, even giving them shelter in our homes for the night. Let your
character be free from the love of money (remember that money is the root of
all evil), being content with what you have; for He Himself said "I will
never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you". Because of that we can say
with confidence "the Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid. What shall
man do to me?" (remember: if God be for us, who can be against us?) We
should be so confident in who we are and what we have that nothing that anybody
can do or say will cause us to turn back or stumble. Father thank You that the
reader continues to love the brethren. He/she does not fear because he/she
knows that You are with him/her; that You are his/her helper; and man can do
nothing to harm him/her.
So the other disciple who had first come to the tomb then also entered, and he saw and believed
Good morning. We left John at the entrance of the tomb, stooping and looking in. “Shy” Peter then arrives following John, and enters the tomb; and he saw the linen wrappings lying there. So the other disciple, John, who had first come to the tomb then also entered, and he saw and believed. It does not say whether or not Peter believed. For as yet they did not understand the scripture, that He must rise again from the dead. So the disciples went away again to their own homes. I’m not exactly sure what it means by their own homes. They were originally from Galilee and would not have had homes in Jerusalem. Perhaps it means the homes where they were staying while in Jerusalem. Apparently, they were not staying in the upper room, or it would have said so. But Mary was standing outside the tomb weeping; and so, as she wept, she stooped (just like John) and looked into the tomb. She saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had been l...
