Good morning. Not only
should we continue to offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, we should not
neglect doing good and sharing; for with such sacrifices God is pleased. Notice
it says that doing good and sharing are sacrifices. That helps to confirm that
the previous verse does not mean the sacrifice of praise is praising God even
when you don't feel like it or have no reason to do so. We don't have animal
sacrifices to God, so this is the way we offer up Thanksgiving to Him. Obey
your leaders, and submit to them; for they keep watch over your souls, as those
who will give an account. There are those that use this verse and others to say
"we have control over your life. You can't do anything major without
consulting us first". If you don't conform, they kick you out of the
church. Now the God of peace, who brought up from the dead the great Shepherd
of the sheep through the blood of the eternal covenant, even Jesus our Lord,
equip you, the reader, in every good thing to do His will, working in you that which
is pleasing in His sight, Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever
amen. That is the end of the book of Hebrews. Father thank You that the reader
continually offers up sacrifices of praise, doing good, and sharing. He/she
excels in all that he/she does for You, and always does what is pleasing in
Your sight.
Unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God
Good morning. While Jesus was in Jerusalem at the Passover, during the feast, many believed in His name, observing His signs which He was doing. Jesus was not entrusting Himself to them, for He knew all men. Now there was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. It doesn’t say, but I assume it is still during this time of the Passover. This man came to Jesus by night. Rabbi, we know that You have come from God as a teacher; for no one can do the signs that You do unless God is with him. It just said that the people believed in His name because of the signs He was doing; yet it does not say what those signs were. Unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God. That is why unbelievers cannot tell what is of the kingdom of God and what is not – they’re not born again. Nicodemus doesn’t have a clue. How can a man be born when he is old? He cannot enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born, can he? Unless one is born of water and the Spirit ...
