Good morning. In addition to stimulating one another to love and good deeds, we should not be forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more, as you see the day drawing near. There are no lone rangers in the kingdom of God. Even in the best of times, we should be meeting with other Christians. In these days, as the end is drawing near, we should be even more diligent to meet with other Christians. We need their comfort, encouragement, and counsel. In this verse he says that some have even made it a habit to not assemble. It does not take too many times doing something for it to become a habit. It then becomes very difficult to break that habit. In fact many times people don't even want to break that habit. They have comfort in that routine. In this case, they don't want people telling them that they are doing something wrong. Would you want to go to a group that you know would tell you you're doing something wrong? Of course not! If we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a certain terrifying expectation of judgment, and the fury of a fire which will consume the adversaries. That reminds me of a time when a friend of mine told someone that the word of God said a certain thing was wrong. That person said he did not want to hear it, because then he would be responsible for not doing it. And of course if you go to a good church, you will definitely hear that something you are doing is not right. Father thank You that the reader loves to be with Your people. He/she encourages others to do the same.
