Good morning. Now Jesus
says: you have heard “you shall not commit murder” and “whoever commits murder
shall be liable to the court”. That makes sense – everyone can agree with that.
But then: everyone who is angry with his brother shall be guilty before the
court. Whoa - wait a minute! I'm not so sure about that. (He goes on from
there). He says we are to be reconciled with our brother, especially before
presenting our offering to God. If some part of your body makes you stumble,
get rid of it. He did not mean that literally. Of course no part of your body
can make you stumble. It's what's inside of you that makes you stumble. He
talks about making vows. Let your statement be, “yes, yes" or “no, no”;
and anything beyond these is of evil (He did not say is evil). When we say yes
or no, that should be the end of it. That word alone should be good enough.
People think that if they are more emphatic than a simple yes or no, that it
will seem like they are more sincere about their statement. A lot of times this
includes profanity. If we are a person of our word, a simple yes or no should
be enough. Father thank You that You take care of all of the reader’s needs.
Give him/her the strength encourage to be victorious every day.
Unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God
Good morning. While Jesus was in Jerusalem at the Passover, during the feast, many believed in His name, observing His signs which He was doing. Jesus was not entrusting Himself to them, for He knew all men. Now there was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. It doesn’t say, but I assume it is still during this time of the Passover. This man came to Jesus by night. Rabbi, we know that You have come from God as a teacher; for no one can do the signs that You do unless God is with him. It just said that the people believed in His name because of the signs He was doing; yet it does not say what those signs were. Unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God. That is why unbelievers cannot tell what is of the kingdom of God and what is not – they’re not born again. Nicodemus doesn’t have a clue. How can a man be born when he is old? He cannot enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born, can he? Unless one is born of water and the Spirit ...
