Good morning. Happy St. Patrick's Day. So
Paul, how do you feel about yourself? Wretched man that I am! Don’t water it
down; how do you really feel? Who will set me free from the body of this death?
It looks like you are between a rock and a hard place. Thanks be to God through
Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, on the one hand I myself with my mind am
serving the law of God, but on the other, with my flesh the law of sin. In
Galatians, Paul writes, for the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and
the Spirit against the flesh; for they are in opposition to one another, so
that you may not do the things that you please. I’m sure you’ve heard this
before: there are two wolves inside of you fighting against each other. Which
one wins – the one that you feed. The more you give in and feed the flesh, the
harder it is to resist. The more you feed the spirit, The easier it is to
resist the flesh. I didn’t say it was easy, just easier. How do we feed our
spirit - with the word. Father help us to constantly feed our spirits with the
word of God. Help us to resist the temptations that come at us.
Unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God
Good morning. While Jesus was in Jerusalem at the Passover, during the feast, many believed in His name, observing His signs which He was doing. Jesus was not entrusting Himself to them, for He knew all men. Now there was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. It doesn’t say, but I assume it is still during this time of the Passover. This man came to Jesus by night. Rabbi, we know that You have come from God as a teacher; for no one can do the signs that You do unless God is with him. It just said that the people believed in His name because of the signs He was doing; yet it does not say what those signs were. Unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God. That is why unbelievers cannot tell what is of the kingdom of God and what is not – they’re not born again. Nicodemus doesn’t have a clue. How can a man be born when he is old? He cannot enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born, can he? Unless one is born of water and the Spirit ...
