We are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men

Good morning. Surely the time has passed for all of these ministry gifts, such as apostles and prophets, right? No, it was until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ. Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Absolutely not! A few verses before, we were to preserve the unity of the Spirit; now it is attaining to the unity of the faith. Without the unity of the Spirit, there would be no unity of the faith. As a result we are no longer to be children (we no longer partake only of the milk of the Word as mentioned in Hebrews), tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming. The word translated “trickery“ actually means cube, as in dice, alluding to cheating at the game. Father help us to attain to that unity of the faith and of the knowledge of Your Son; to become mature to the fullness of Christ.

Why are you timid, you men of little faith?
