Hold fast to that which is good; abstain from every form (appearance) of evil.

Good morning. Do not despise prophetic utterances… But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good; abstain from every form (appearance) of evil. Just because someone says, “thus saith the Lord…“, does not mean that you take it always as being straight from God’s mouth. You should examine it – hold it up to the light of God‘s word, and see if it is in harmony with it. When people see someone who says they are a Christian doing something that looks like it’s wrong, they put down the whole idea of Christianity, saying that they are all hypocrites. We don’t want people to think that we’re doing wrong (appearance of evil), even if we know we are not. The following which is at the end of First Thessalonians is my prayer for you: now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is He who calls you, and He will bring it to pass. If we allow Him to do it, He guarantees He will.
