They secretly induced men to say, we have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses and against God

 Good morning. They couldn’t refute what Stephen was saying so they did what people do today when they have no good response to the truth – they secretly induced men to say, we have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses and against God. If you have no answer against the truth, you bring in a great lie to oppose it. And they stirred up the people, the elders and the scribes, and they came up to Stephen and dragged him away and brought him before the council. They put forth false witnesses who said, this man incessantly speaks against this holy place and the law; for we have heard him say that this Nazarene, Jesus, will destroy this place and alter the customs which Moses handed down to us. And fixing their gaze on him, all who were sitting in the council saw his face like the face of an angel. The high priest said, are these things so? He was probably expecting a simple yes or no; but what he got was an earful. He begins with Abraham when he was first called by God to go to the promised land. He continues until he gets to the point where the children of Israel are in Egypt in bondage. But as the time of the promise was approaching which God had assured to Abraham, the people increased and multiplied in Egypt, until there arose another king over Egypt who knew nothing about Joseph. It was he who took shrewd advantage of our race and mistreated our fathers so that they would expose their infants and they would not survive. It was at this time that Moses was born. This is part of the reason I don’t believe that the children of Israel were in slavery for hundred years, as everyone says. Exodus says that they left Egypt 430 years to the day after they arrived. You don’t talk about the time of the promise approaching, if there is 400 years of slavery left to go. The part about another king arising is in the very beginning of Exodus, as is the part about Moses being born. We will continue this another time. Father help us and our families to have a great day. Meet all of their needs.

  Good morning. But even if you should suffer for the sake of righteousness, you are blessed. “And do not fear their intimidation and do not be troubled”. In Greek, the word “if“ has different degrees of significance unlike in English. My Bible says that in the Greek, this conditional clause (if you should suffer…) is the furthest removed from stating a reality. Suffering for righteousness is a remote possibility, but even if it does occur, it brings special blessing to the sufferer. All Christians wrestle with the question, “should I share the gospel with this person or not?“ The following verse tells us how we should do it: sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence. To those, who are chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, and by the sanctifying work of the Spirit, to obey Jesus Christ and be sprinkled with His blood

  Good morning. Today we begin with I Peter. Peter identifies himself as an apostle of Jesus. There was only one, so we know who is writing. To those who reside as aliens (believers are aliens to this world), scattered throughout (different places), who are chosen (we didn’t earn it) according to the foreknowledge (this comes from the same Greek word from which we get the medical term prognosis) of God the Father, and by the sanctifying work of the Spirit (this shows that the third Person of the Trinity is also involved), to obey Jesus Christ (which we are incapable of doing without being sanctified) and be sprinkled with His blood (all articles of worship in the tabernacle and then in the temple were sprinkled with the blood of animals – we are sprinkled with the blood of Jesus): may grace and peace be yours in the fullest measure.
