Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the Law, or by hearing with faith?

Good morning. You foolish Galatians - wow 😮 Paul, who has bewitched you, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed as crucified? This is the only thing I want to find out from you; did you receive the Spirit by the works of the Law, or by hearing with faith? He is referring back to the controversy about obtaining justification through works instead of faith. Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh? That is so typical of human nature. First we think that we have to do something to obtain our salvation, and then we think we have to do something to perfect our salvation. So then, does He who provides you with the Spirit and works miracles among you, do it by works of the law, or by hearing with faith? Again, we feel like we have to do something to earn everything, whether it’s salvation, healing, or anything else. Next time we will continue with where the book of James and Paul apparently disagree. Father thank You that You gave us everything – we did not have to earn it.
