Stand firm therefore, having girded your loins with truth and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace

Good morning. Since we have done everything – stand firm therefore, (The following is why you can stand firm) having girded your loins with truth and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace. I am sure that you have heard or read many good explanations of these pieces of armor; so I am not going to try to add to them. A couple of things should be obvious to us all: You must have every piece on your body or the enemy will find a way to attack you, and you cannot ever take them off. There are two more defensive pieces which sadly many Christians do take off frequently. The first: in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Depending on the time in history, the body armor was made of thick leather, not metal. If struck with an arrow, it might prevent the arrow from penetrating to the body, but if it were on fire, it could catch the armor on fire. We will look at the second piece that can be removed next time. Father help us to keep on this armor 24/7.
