If anyone wishes to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever wishes to save his life shall lose it; but whoever loses his life for My sake shall find it.

Good morning.  If anyone wishes to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever wishes to save his life shall lose it; but whoever loses his life for My sake shall find it. Of course He is not talking about taking up a physical cross and losing your physical life. It is something much harder to do. With your physical life, it is over and done with fairly quickly (though that does not mean that it will not be very painful). With your soul, it takes a lifetime. For what will a man be profited, if he gains the whole world, and forfeits his soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? Of course at the time it seems like the here and now is more definite and more important. There is always time to change and make things right at the end - we think. For the Son of Man is going to come in the glory of His Father with His angels; and will then recompense every man according to his deeds. In the end you will get your comeuppance. Everything may seem great here on earth; but it is just a short time in comparison to the eternity of your soul. Father thank You that we deny ourselves, takes up our cross, and follow Jesus.
