Everyone who has heard and learned from the Father, comes to Me
Good morning. Jesus continues: everyone who has heard and learned from the Father, comes to Me. Not that anyone has seen the Father, except the One who is from God; He has seen the Father. It says in another place that no one can see God and live. So is Jesus talking about before His incarnation that He saw God? There are several places in the Old Testament where it appears that God, not an angel, was interacting with humans. Was that actually Jesus before He became a man? Truly I say to you, he who believes has eternal life. Again it is not he who does something that has eternal life. I am the bread of life. Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died. This is the bread which comes down out of heaven, so that one may eat of it and not die. I am the living bread that came down out of heaven; if anyone eats this bread, he will live forever; and the bread also which I will give for the life of the world is My flesh. This really puzzles the people – how can this man give us His flesh to eat? They are still thinking in the natural. We’ll see Jesus’ response next time. Father thank You that Jesus is the true bread, and we have partaken of Him. Help us to live our lives so that others will see and hunger after that bread of life.
