Good morning. What about
these liars seared in their own conscience - men who forbid marriage and
advocate abstaining from foods. I've mentioned before groups that say we should
go back to the Old Testament dietary laws. In some instances we would probably
be better off, but they do it for religious reasons not for health reasons.
Everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected, if it is
received with gratitude; for it is sanctified by means of the word of God and
prayer (that does not mean that everything is healthy though). And pointing
these things out you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, constantly
nourished on the words of the faith and of the sound doctrine which you have
been following. That is where our true nourishment comes from – the word of
God. Discipline yourself for the purpose of godliness; for bodily discipline is
only of little profit, but godliness is profitable for all things, since it
holds promise for the present and also for the life to come. Now he's not saying
to have no bodily discipline. It does profit us here on earth. If you can
discipline yourself bodily, it helps you somewhat to discipline yourself
spiritually. Disciplining yourself spiritually though can help you discipline
yourself in all areas of your life. We have fixed our home on the living God,
who is the Savior of all men, especially of believers (that does not mean that
all will be saved; but that Christ died so that all would have the opportunity
to be saved). We are to prescribe and teach these things. Remember: by now we
should be teachers, not partakers of milk. Father thank You that the reader
disciplines him/herself both bodily and spiritually. He/she ever strives for
godliness.
So the other disciple who had first come to the tomb then also entered, and he saw and believed
Good morning. We left John at the entrance of the tomb, stooping and looking in. “Shy” Peter then arrives following John, and enters the tomb; and he saw the linen wrappings lying there. So the other disciple, John, who had first come to the tomb then also entered, and he saw and believed. It does not say whether or not Peter believed. For as yet they did not understand the scripture, that He must rise again from the dead. So the disciples went away again to their own homes. I’m not exactly sure what it means by their own homes. They were originally from Galilee and would not have had homes in Jerusalem. Perhaps it means the homes where they were staying while in Jerusalem. Apparently, they were not staying in the upper room, or it would have said so. But Mary was standing outside the tomb weeping; and so, as she wept, she stooped (just like John) and looked into the tomb. She saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had been l...
