Good morning. In case you
did not know it – in the last days difficult times will come. All we have to do
is look around. His idea of difficult times though may not be the same as ours.
We may think of it as being difficult to make ends meet. He's talking about it
being difficult to live the Christian life. For men will be lovers of self
(they only think of others as a means of fulfilling their own desires), lovers
of money (just like in first Timothy), boastful (they like to boast about the
things that they have done; some of them about what they've done to
Christians), arrogant (they think they are better than anyone – and dare you to
oppose them), revilers (especially of Christians and their beliefs),
disobedient to parents (and we thought our children were bad at times – but the
children of today are much much worse), ungrateful (they don't even know how to
say thank you – they don't think they need to; everything is owed to them),
unholy (nothing is off-limits to them), unloving (they love themselves too much
– there is no room for loving others; besides others may keep them from getting
what they want), irreconcilable (they don't want to be reconciled – that would
make them look weak), malicious gossips (they are not just spreading some juicy
tidbit of information – they are trying to destroy that person), without
self-control (you have to want to have self-control, and they don't), brutal
(the more hurt, the better), haters of good (it's not just that they don't want
to do good – the good reveals the bad that is in them). It has more, but we will
finish that tomorrow. Father thank You that the reader truly follows You and
desires to only do good. He/she is a good example to others.
Unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God
Good morning. While Jesus was in Jerusalem at the Passover, during the feast, many believed in His name, observing His signs which He was doing. Jesus was not entrusting Himself to them, for He knew all men. Now there was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. It doesn’t say, but I assume it is still during this time of the Passover. This man came to Jesus by night. Rabbi, we know that You have come from God as a teacher; for no one can do the signs that You do unless God is with him. It just said that the people believed in His name because of the signs He was doing; yet it does not say what those signs were. Unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God. That is why unbelievers cannot tell what is of the kingdom of God and what is not – they’re not born again. Nicodemus doesn’t have a clue. How can a man be born when he is old? He cannot enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born, can he? Unless one is born of water and the Spirit ...
