Good morning. Now when
Jesus was in Bethany, at the home of Simon the leper (in John it says that
Jesus was in Bethany at the home of Mary, Martha, and Lazarus), a woman came to
Him with an alabaster vial of very costly perfume, and she poured it upon His
head as He reclined at the table. The disciples were upset and said that it was
a waste. It could've been sold for a high price, and the money given to the
poor. In another place it says that Judas was upset because he had the money
box and used to steal from it. Why are you upset? She did a good deed for Me.
You have the poor with you always, but you don't always have Me. When she
poured this perfume upon My body, she did it to prepare Me for burial. Wherever
this gospel is preached in the whole world, what she did shall be spoken of in
memory of her. I may have mentioned this before. Think about it – she just
poured very expensive perfume all over His head. They did not have showers, and
probably did not take a full bath with soap like we do. Jesus just said it was
two days before the Passover. It is very likely that some of the fragrance
remained on Jesus during His trial. Judas went to the chief priests and wanted
to know how much they would give him to betray Jesus. They agreed on 30 pieces
of silver, and Judas began to look for a good opportunity to betray Jesus.
Father thank You that You guide the reader every moment of the day. Put a hedge

Unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God
Good morning. While Jesus was in Jerusalem at the Passover, during the feast, many believed in His name, observing His signs which He was doing. Jesus was not entrusting Himself to them, for He knew all men. Now there was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. It doesn’t say, but I assume it is still during this time of the Passover. This man came to Jesus by night. Rabbi, we know that You have come from God as a teacher; for no one can do the signs that You do unless God is with him. It just said that the people believed in His name because of the signs He was doing; yet it does not say what those signs were. Unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God. That is why unbelievers cannot tell what is of the kingdom of God and what is not – they’re not born again. Nicodemus doesn’t have a clue. How can a man be born when he is old? He cannot enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born, can he? Unless one is born of water and the Spirit ...
