Good morning. As You sent Me into the world, I also have
sent them into the world. Again, He did not put us into some kind of shelter –
He sent us into the world where there was possible harm that could come to us.
For their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they themselves also may be sanctified
in truth. Remember He just said that God’s word was truth. Now a verse that
says something extremely important to us. I do not ask on behalf of these
alone, but also for those who believe in Me through their word. That is we He’s
talking about. And why did He ask this – that they may all be one; even as You,
Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world
may believe that You sent Me. The glory which You have given Me I have given to
them, that they may be one, just as We are one. So this is another thing – Him
giving us the glory – that helps us to be one. What is a major way that the
world will know that what we say about Jesus is true? I in them and You in Me,
that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent
Me, and love them even as You have loved Me. It does not seem like today that
the church is United. Even denominations do not seem like they are united. Why
should the world want what we’ve got, when we are at each other‘s throat?
Father help us to be one even as You and Jesus are One. Help the reader to have
a great day. Minister to his/her every need.
Therefore I exhort you, be imitators of me
Good morning. Paul then gives a list of a lot of things that he has gone through as an apostle. I do not write these things to shame you, but to admonish you as my beloved children. For if you were to have countless tutors in Christ, yet you would not have many fathers, for in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel. There could be many people that you listen to either in church or through the Internet or other means; but there was only one person (as a general rule it was a person) that lead you to Christ. Therefore I exhort you, be imitators of me. He was saying that just like a child imitates his or her father, they were to imitate him. He says that again seven chapters later. Since it is easy to forget some things about people we have not seen in a while, Paul says that he sent Timothy to them to remind them of his ways which are in Christ, just as he taught everywhere in every church. Some have become arrogant, as though I were not coming to you. I shall find ou...
