Good morning. So then we pursue the things which make for
peace and the building up of one another. That is so the opposite of what a lot
of Christians do. Do not tear down the work of God for the sake of food (or
anything else). All things indeed are clean, but they are evil for the man who
eats and gives offense. Again this applies to all areas not just food which he
is talking about. Still we don’t necessarily give up things just because
another Christian thinks they’re wrong. It is good not eat meat (that might
have been sacrificed to idols though not known for sure. They only burned part
of the animal; the rest was sold in the meat market) or to drink wine, or to do
anything by which your brother stumbles. The faith which you have, have as your
own conviction before God. Happy is he who does not condemn himself in what he
approves. But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because his eating is not
from faith; and whatever is not from faith is sin. So if you’re not sure
whether or not something is right, don’t do it. Father thank You that You love the
reader and his/her family so much that you want the best for them always. Bring
strength and peace to all.
Therefore I exhort you, be imitators of me
Good morning. Paul then gives a list of a lot of things that he has gone through as an apostle. I do not write these things to shame you, but to admonish you as my beloved children. There could be many people that you listen to either in church or through the Internet or other means; but there was only one person (as a general rule it was a person) that lead you to Christ. Therefore I exhort you, be imitators of me. He was saying that just like a child imitates his or her father, they were to imitate him. He says that again seven chapters later. Since it is easy to forget some things about people we have not seen in a while, Paul says that he sent Timothy to them to remind them of his ways which are in Christ, just as he taught everywhere in every church. Some have become arrogant, as though I were not coming to you. I shall find ou...
