Therefore I want the men in every place to pray, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and dissension.
Good morning. For this (to bring about salvation) I was appointed a preacher and an apostle as a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth. Wherever Paul went, he spoke to the Jews first; but since they refused to hear, he then proclaimed the gospel to the Gentiles who received it joyously. And because of this: therefore I want the men in every place to pray, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and dissension. Their prayers will do no good if there is unholiness among those praying, or anger with each other, or dissension among them in the church. Paul then talks to the women. He would really come under fire in today’s culture, but in that day’s culture it was acceptable. He tells them not to be concerned about adorning themselves outwardly but rather by means of good works, as is proper for women making a claim to godliness. That’s bad enough, but there’s more to come tomorrow. Father continue to take care of the reader and his/her family, bringing blessings upon blessings every day.
