Those who continue in sin, rebuke in the presence of all, so that the rest also will be fearful of sinning.
Good morning. Back to the elders and the accusations against: those who continue in sin, rebuke in the presence of all, so that the rest also will be fearful of sinning. That sounds harsh, but it goes along with what was said in the gospels about someone doing something wrong to you. First you went to them alone, then you brought two or three witnesses with you, and finally you brought them before the entire church. Rebuking the elders in front of the entire church would not happen today. Everything would be done in private. In this case, it appears that they have already been warned, and yet have not stopped sinning. Remember Ananias and Sapphira in the book of Acts dropping dead because they lied to the Holy Spirit. If God felt that way about members sinning, how do you think He feels about elders sinning? I solemnly charge you to maintain these principles without bias, doing nothing in a spirit of partiality. Father thank You for Your grace and mercy. Continue to pour them out on the reader and his/her family.
