Good morning. A verse that
tells us that we are not unique in our situation: no temptation has overtaken
you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you
to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide
the way of escape also, that you may be able to endure it. We don't have to
give in. Help is on the way! As they say "God won't give you any more than
you can handle". And we say "that's easy for you to say". Skipping
a bunch of verses, Paul tells us that whatever we do, do all to the glory of
God. Too many times we do what is good for us without even thinking about what
God desires. Paul says: just as I also please all men in all things, not
seeking my own profit, but the profit of the many, that they may be saved. Be
imitators of me, just as I also am of Christ. We need someone we can look up
to; and we also need to be examples to others that they can look up to.
Skipping a bunch of verses: when you come together as a church, I hear that
divisions exist among you; and in part, I believe it. For there must also be
factions among you, in order that those who are approved may have become
evident among you. Sometimes discord is simmering just beneath the surface. You
may not even be aware of it especially in a church as large as ours. The only
way it becomes known is when a certain situation brings things to a boiling
point. Sometimes it is a good thing that a bad thing happens. You don't truly
know what is in a person until they are in a situation which makes them
uncomfortable. It can be hidden for a long time. He then talks about the Lord's
Supper. If we judged ourselves rightly, we should not be judged. But when we
are judged, we are disciplined by the Lord in order that we may not be
condemned along with the world. No one likes to be disciplined; but sometimes
it is necessary. It is better to yield to the inward discipline of God so that
He does not have to use a physical one. Father thank You that the reader is
walking in Your truth. He/she overcomes all temptations. He/she is a good
example to others.

Good morning. We left John at the entrance of the tomb, stooping and looking in. “Shy” Peter then arrives following John, and enters the tomb; and he saw the linen wrappings lying there. So the other disciple, John, who had first come to the tomb then also entered, and he saw and believed. It does not say whether or not Peter believed. For as yet they did not understand the scripture, that He must rise again from the dead. So the disciples went away again to their own homes. I’m not exactly sure what it means by their own homes. They were originally from Galilee and would not have had homes in Jerusalem. Perhaps it means the homes where they were staying while in Jerusalem. Apparently, they were not staying in the upper room, or it would have said so. But Mary was standing outside the tomb weeping; and so, as she wept, she stooped (just like John) and looked into the tomb. She saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had been l...
