Come in blessed of the Lord! Why do you stand outside since I have prepared the house, and a place for the camels?
Good morning. When Laban saw the ring and the bracelets on his sister’s wrists, and when he heard the words of Rebekah, saying “This is what the man said to me,” he went to the man; he was standing by the camels at the spring. That verifies that she just ran off and left the man standing there. “Come in blessed of the Lord! Why do you stand outside since I have prepared the house, and a place for the camels?” Seriously? He didn’t have time to do all of that. The man entered the house. Then Laban unloaded the camels, and he gave straw and feed to the camels, and water to wash his feet and the feet of the men who were with him. Laban saw the 10 camels and probably many of the items the man had brought with him to give as a dowry. He knew this meant Abraham was rich, and later when Jacob comes he probably assumes that Jacob’s father, Isaac who would have inherited everything from Abraham, is rich also. Father make this a time of healing and deliverance for the reader and his/her family.
