Then the Lord took note of Sarah as He had said, and the Lord did for Sarah as He had promised
Good morning. Then the Lord took note of Sarah as He had said,
and the Lord did for Sarah as He had promised. Someone once said that when you
see the word therefore in the Scriptures you need to ask yourself what is it
there for? The same thing can sometimes be said of
the word “then”. You should ask yourself what happened that precipitated the “then“?
Why didn’t God do it sooner? If Sarah had been pregnant or already had
Isaac, all that happened with Abimelech, including all that he gave Abraham,
would not have occurred. So Sarah conceived and bore a son to Abraham in his
old age, at the appointed time of which God had spoken to him. God only does
things at the appointed time. Father help us to be willing to wait for Your
appointed time for things that You promised us to happen.
