Good morning. So when Jesus said to the people, your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad, exactly what was He talking about? During what incident did this occur? Some believe that it was when Abraham met Melchizedek - that that was really Jesus in His pre-incarnate form. So the Jews said, You are not yet 50 years old, and have You seen Abraham? And now the statement that really got them upset: before Abraham was born, I am. It wasn’t just because Jesus said He was really ancient (that would just mean that He was nuts); it was because He said “I am”. They picked up stones to throw at Him, but He hid Himself and went out of the temple. This was not the only time that the people wanted to kill Him, but He slipped away. Nothing has said anything to the contrary, so we can probably assume that it was still during the feast of booths. He and the disciples were walking along and saw a man blind from birth. The disciples asked a question which even today people would ask: who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind? Of course we would “know better than that“ about someone born blind; but we just might ask something like that when something horrible happens to someone. It is human nature to think - cause and effect. That person (or even ourselves) must’ve done something wrong for this to happen. Jesus replied, it was neither that this man sinned, nor his parents; but it was so that the works of God might be displayed in him. Good things and bad things happen to both good people and bad people. They are not a sign of pleasure or anger from God. Father thank You that Jesus is the “I am“. Extend Your miracle working hand to help the reader.

Out of the smoke came locusts upon the earth, and power was given to them, as the scorpions of the earth have power.

But even if you should suffer for the sake of righteousness, you are blessed.
