Good morning. He who has My Commandments and keeps them is
the one who loves Me; and he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I
will love him and will disclose Myself to him. Here we come back to this again:
if you love Jesus – you will keep His commandments. It’s not what you say; it’s
what you do. Lord, what has happened that You are going to disclose Yourself to
us and not to the world? Again it seems that the disciples are hearing only one
thing. They still have not addressed the issue about keeping His commandments.
But Jesus is not going to let the issue drop. If anyone loves Me, he will keep
My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our
abode with him. He who does not love Me, does not keep My words. Jesus was actually
being a logician there. Just because you say if A, then B, does not
automatically mean that if not A, then not B is true. In other words, just
because Jesus said, if you love Me, you will keep My word does not logically
mean that if you do not love Me, then you will not keep My word is true, even
though we all know that in reality it would be true. Unfortunately many times
I’ve heard preachers make that same wrong conclusion on other verses. That is
your logic lesson for today 😎 . And the word which you
heard is not Mine, but the Father’s who sent Me. Jesus was always very careful
to make sure that He said exactly what the Father told Him to. These things I
have spoken to you while abiding with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit,
whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring
to your remembrance all that I said to you. Many times we forget or confuse the
things that people said to us. That’s why witnesses disagree. In this case,
Jesus is saying that you will remember everything exactly the way I told you;
in fact it was crucial that they did. Father thank You that we have Jesus’
exact words upon which we can build our lives. Make those words real in the
reader’s life.
Unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God
Good morning. While Jesus was in Jerusalem at the Passover, during the feast, many believed in His name, observing His signs which He was doing. Jesus was not entrusting Himself to them, for He knew all men. Now there was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. It doesn’t say, but I assume it is still during this time of the Passover. This man came to Jesus by night. Rabbi, we know that You have come from God as a teacher; for no one can do the signs that You do unless God is with him. It just said that the people believed in His name because of the signs He was doing; yet it does not say what those signs were. Unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God. That is why unbelievers cannot tell what is of the kingdom of God and what is not – they’re not born again. Nicodemus doesn’t have a clue. How can a man be born when he is old? He cannot enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born, can he? Unless one is born of water and the Spirit ...
