Good morning. So after yesterday, what should we do about praying
in tongues? What is the outcome then? I will pray with the spirit and I will
pray with the mind also; I will sing with the spirit and I will sing with the
mind also. We should do both, and not one to the exclusion of the other. What
does he mean when he says sing with the spirit? What is that all about? Before
I moved to this area 30 years ago, the churches I belonged to spent time in
every service singing in the Spirit. It wasn’t this tiny bit that we
occasionally do almost under our breath. It was the whole congregation joining
in with full volume. (my roommate and I would even do that when we worshiped
together at home) It wasn’t but a couple of minutes, but it seemed like longer.
After we finished, everything was very still as we basked in the presence of
the Holy Spirit. (None of the churches I have been in since I moved here do
that. There is almost never a pause in the service.) After a few moments of
silence, many times the vocal gifts of the Spirit would operate. Everyone
singing together in the Spirit is one of the things I really do miss about
worshiping. Father thank You that You are working diligently behind-the-scenes
to answer all of the reader’s prayers. Even though it may not work out the way he/she
would do it, You know what is best and what will work in the end.
Unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God
Good morning. While Jesus was in Jerusalem at the Passover, during the feast, many believed in His name, observing His signs which He was doing. Jesus was not entrusting Himself to them, for He knew all men. Now there was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. It doesn’t say, but I assume it is still during this time of the Passover. This man came to Jesus by night. Rabbi, we know that You have come from God as a teacher; for no one can do the signs that You do unless God is with him. It just said that the people believed in His name because of the signs He was doing; yet it does not say what those signs were. Unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God. That is why unbelievers cannot tell what is of the kingdom of God and what is not – they’re not born again. Nicodemus doesn’t have a clue. How can a man be born when he is old? He cannot enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born, can he? Unless one is born of water and the Spirit ...
