I am God Almighty; walk before me and be blameless. I will establish my covenant between Me and you, and I will multiply you exceedingly

Good morning. When Abram was 99 years old (that made Ishmael 13), the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, “I am God Almighty (El Shaddai); walk before me and be blameless. I will establish my covenant between Me and you, and I will multiply you exceedingly“. 13 years after he had a son, Abram may have been thinking everything was hunky-dory. God may make us a promise, but that does not mean that we can do anything that we want; we have to walk before Him blamelessly. Abram fell on his face, and God talked with him, saying, “As for Me, behold; My covenant is with you, and you will be the father of a multitude of nations”. At this point in time, God was saying that His covenant was with Abram and not with Ishmael. “No longer shall your name be called Abram (exalted father), but your name shall be Abraham (father of a multitude); for I will make you the father of a multitude of nations“. For 86 years when anyone asked him his name, he replied “exalted father“, even though he had no children. Now he was going to call himself “father of a multitude“, when he only had one child and was 99 years old. God wants us to say that His promises to us “are“, even when we don’t see them fulfilled. Father thank You that Your promises to us are, yay and amen!
