For we who have believed enter that rest.

Good morning. For we who have believed enter that rest. Therefore, since it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerly had good news preached to them failed to enter because of disobedience, He again fixes a certain day, “today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts.“ It’s not just the Israelites who hardened their hearts; it is people today, even in churches. For if Joshua had given them rest, He would not have spoken of another another day after that. Ours is not just a physical/emotional rest like theirs. So there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God. For the one who has entered His rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from His. It’s not like God got tired and had to rest. When He finished with creation, He ceased from His labors. We also do not have to labor to enter our promised land - it is not by works, but by grace through faith. Father thank You that we can enter into Your rest, even here on earth.
