It is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment, so Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time for salvation

Good morning. In the first covenant, Moses sprinkled all the objects and the people with blood. According to the law, one may almost say, all things are cleansed with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness. If the first covenant required the shedding of blood – the heavenly things themselves “needed to be sprinkled“ with better sacrifices than these. Christ did not enter a holy place made with hands, but into heaven itself to appear in the presence of God for us; nor was it that He would offer Himself often. And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once (however the book of Revelation speaks of a second death) and after this comes judgment, so Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time for salvation (without reference to sin), to those who eagerly await Him. We have already received salvation “with reference to sin“; but we await the “salvation” of our bodies. Father help us to make ourselves pure as we await the return of Jesus.
