Good morning. Today we're
actually going to take something out of context; but the words have an
application to our everyday life. From chapter 3 of second Peter: with the Lord
one day is as 1000 years, and 1000 years as one day. The Lord is not slow about
his promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for
any to perish but for all to come to repentance. Of course in context it is
talking about the end times and God being patient rather than bringing judgment
upon people right away. But we're going to look at this as God is not slow
about keeping His promises to us. He has promised you things, and it really
seems like He is slow about keeping them. But He's not slow. It just seems like
that to us. We want everything right now. Remember – it's at the right moment.
He knows when it's the best time. Jesus, the promised savior, was born at the
right time; not too soon and not too late. Everything had to be in place. The
same is true for us. Everything must be at the right time in the right place.
Maybe to God a thousand years is as one day, but to us 1000 years is as 1000
years! What is soon to Him seems like a long time to us. Who was it that said
Patience is a virtue? Of course you can't have patience, if there's nothing you're
being patient about. You have His promises. He will fulfill them at the proper
time. Father help the reader to keep his/her mind focused on You. Help him/her
to be patient and to not get ahead of You. He/She will receive the reward at
the proper time.
Out of the smoke came locusts upon the earth, and power was given to them, as the scorpions of the earth have power.
Good morning. Out of the smoke came locusts upon the earth, and power was given to them, as the scorpions of the earth have power. (Kind of like Egypt with the grasshoppers). They were told not to hurt the grass of the earth, not any green thing, nor any tree (normally these are the things that the locusts would be interested in), but only the men who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads (most likely the 144,000 - possibly the only believers left on earth). They were not permitted to kill anyone, but to torment for five months [My Bible says it is a limited period of time suggested by the lifecycle of the locust.]; and their torment was like the torment of a scorpion when it stings a man. Add in those days men will seek death and will not find it; they will long to die, and death flees from them. I guess the stings were so painful that they got to the point where they wished they were dead. We will see what the locusts looked like tomorrow. Father just like You will pro...
