Good morning. This is from
parts of verses in Matthew chapter 6. Do not lay up for yourselves treasures
upon earth, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven. For where your
treasure is there will your heart be also. The lamp of the body is the eye; if
therefore your eye is clear, your whole body will be full of light. No one can
serve two masters; you cannot serve God and Mammon. Do not be anxious for your
life as to what you shall eat or what you shall drink. And which of you by
being anxious can add a single cubit to his life's span? What do we treasure
most? Too many Christians today treasure the things of the earth. When we value
things of the earth above things of heaven, then we are responsible for
obtaining them and taking care of them. When we value things of heaven, then
God is responsible for obtaining and taking care of them. (By the way the word
translated treasure is the Greek word thesaurus.) We come back to lamp again.
What we focus our eyes and our minds on, this is what will light up our lives.
If our eyes focus on the things of the world, then we will be filled with
darkness. When our eyes are focused on God's word, then we are filled with
light. When we are focused on God, then we are not responsible for the things
that we need. He will take care of them. Then we don't need to be anxious. We
are not supposed to seek the things of the world; but the things of heaven. We
are to seek first His kingdom and His righteousness's; and then all these
things that we need will be added to us. Father help the reader to keep his/her
eyes focused on You and Your word. Help him/her to keep seeking Your kingdom
and Your righteousness. Thank You that You will provide everything that he/she
needs abundantly more than he/she could ever ask or think.
So the other disciple who had first come to the tomb then also entered, and he saw and believed
Good morning. We left John at the entrance of the tomb, stooping and looking in. “Shy” Peter then arrives following John, and enters the tomb; and he saw the linen wrappings lying there. So the other disciple, John, who had first come to the tomb then also entered, and he saw and believed. It does not say whether or not Peter believed. For as yet they did not understand the scripture, that He must rise again from the dead. So the disciples went away again to their own homes. I’m not exactly sure what it means by their own homes. They were originally from Galilee and would not have had homes in Jerusalem. Perhaps it means the homes where they were staying while in Jerusalem. Apparently, they were not staying in the upper room, or it would have said so. But Mary was standing outside the tomb weeping; and so, as she wept, she stooped (just like John) and looked into the tomb. She saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had been l...
